About the Attorney

Erik Ceja’s life purpose is to help people solve legal problems. However, at the core, he simply seeks to help. With a deep commitment to his values and the community, Erik looks forward to empowering individuals and businesses facing legal obstacles. He truly wants to change the world, one person and one case at a time.

Erik is ready to help you overcome your own legal obstacles, fulfill your legal needs, and provide guidance and direction with a variety of legal issues. His practice focuses primarily on trademark/copyright matters, business disputes, personal injury matters, and serving as general counsel to businesses and artists.

Erik has been helping individuals and businesses navigate the legal landscape since 2003, when he earned his associate of arts in paralegal studies and began working full-time as a paralegal for Los Angeles firm Finnegan & Diba, APLC. During his paralegal career, Erik realized that through a formalized legal education, he could receive additional skills to solidify a practice of law that would allow him to continue helping others with more impact. As such, he returned to school to earn his Juris Doctor degree with aspirations of practicing law in Southern California. He has amassed (15) years of hands on experience in the legal field prior to obtaining his juris doctorate.

Erik earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from California State University Dominguez Hills where he made the Dean’s list, joined the business honor society, Delta Mu Delta, earned entrepreneurship awards, and presented at multiple symposiums.

Erik attended Southwestern Law School and graduated from its two-year accelerated J.D. program known as SCALE. At Southwestern, Erik was a staff member of the Journal of International Law honors program, served as a student leader with the Public Interest small claims clinic, and as a board member of the Latino Law Student Association, the Public Interest Law Committee, and the Women’s Law Association. During the summer, Erik took part of a summer fellowship with Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles (NLSA) where he worked directly with victims of domestic violence. Erik also served a judicial extern to Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge, Honorable Yvette M. Palazuelos during the last semester of law school. He has been the recipient of various awards and scholarships including the Wendy & Elaine Friedenthal Family Law Public Interest Grant, the Mexican American Bar Foundation Scholarship, the Alumni Association Scholarship, and Southwestern’s Public Interest Law Service Award.

After law school graduation, Erik was chosen to be part of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA)’s prestigious three-month fellowship program. The ABOTA fellowship program hands selects the best and brightest graduating law students who have shown a true desire to become trial lawyers and places them with a civil defense firm, a civil plaintiff’s firm, and a final month shadowing a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge both in the courtroom and in chambers. Erik had the privilege of spending his last month of the fellowship with Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge, Honorable Michael L. Stern.
